Kabuli voters / 20.08.2009
On August 20 2009, 17 millions Afghans were asked to go to polls to elect their President and their provincial representatives. The fear of Taliban attacks, which have particularly hit in recent months and those who directly threatened those who would vote, but also the lack of belief in the legitimacy and democratic nature of these elections, held away from polling a large number of Afghans who chose to stay home.
Nevertheless, there were the others, the ones who wished to exercise, proudly, their citizen right. Men, women, young and old, dressed in traditional clothes or in “Western” style : through the voters of the Afghan capital, cosmopolitan city which intermingles all ethnic groups, this is a portrait of Afghanistan we can see.
